Burgers, Pro Bono, and the MS Society of Canada

We are excited to announce that the MS Society of Canada is one of PBSC-UVic’s new partner organizations for the upcoming 2018-2019 year! The organization provides support and services, including legal advocacy, for individuals living with or affected by Multiple Sclerosis or an MS Allied Disease.

So how can you get involved? Two ways:

1) Eat a burger! The MS Society and A&W Canada are partnering from July 9 – August 16 on the 10th Annual Burgers to Beat MS Campaign.  A&W locations will be selling $2 limited-edition stickers, letting you round up your bill, and putting out donation jars to raise money for the cause. On August 16, $2 from every Teen Burger® sold will be donated. A&W Canada also launched a new vegan burger this week, so don’t let that stop you!

2) Volunteer with PBSC! We are taking one volunteer in the upcoming academic year to work with clients of the MS Society. The volunteer will be interviewing clients and assisting them with forms and applications. This an exciting project that offers hands-on experience working with clients and an opportunity to participate in special legal advocacy training with the MS Society in Vancouver.

Information about the application process will be posted in August. All applications are processed through the PBSC Office located in the Law Faculty building.
