Rebecca Whitmore, Program Coordinator (Full Year)
Rebecca has a B.A. (Hons.) and an M.A. in Geography from Simon Fraser University, where her research focused on informal caregiving, ethics of care, and global health equity. Prior to completing her M.A., Rebecca was a co-op student for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and an intern at the B.C. Legislative Assembly. Rebecca has volunteered with health and social justice organizations including the Elizabeth Fry Society, Atira Women’s Resource Society, and Pivot Legal Society. She is interested in pursuing work related to health policy and public interest law.
Laura Edwards, Program Coordinator (School Year)
Laura Edwards is heading into her second year of law school at the University of Victoria. Laura has a B.Sc. (Hons). in Biology-Ecology from the University of Alberta. She has worked across Alberta as a field biologist and project manager in the non-profit and private sector with a focus on environmental education, wetland ecology, and riparian health. Her career in biology sparked an interest in environmental justice and she plans to pursue a career in environmental or criminal law. In her free time Laura enjoys playing board games with friends, exploring the outdoors, training for triathlons, and chilling with her cat.

Bronwen Black, Program Coordinator (Full Year)
Bronwen Black, a second year UVic law student, is the summer and school year Program Coordinator for the University of Victoria Faculty of Law Chapter of Pro Bono Students Canada. In the past, Bronwen has worked at the Victoria Detox Unit, the Sobering and Assessment Center, and the Salvation Army Community Based Residential Facility. She has acted as a Campaign Leader fundraising on behalf of World Vision Canada, and worked as the Community Project Manager for HepCBC. Bronwen also has a long history of volunteerism, including working with Cool Aid Society, Our Place Society, Victoria Parole, and the Royal Jubilee Hospital. In 2015, Bronwen enjoyed advocating for women’s rights in Lalitpur, Nepal. In her spare time, Bronwen loves crafting, obsessing over her cat, and enjoying the outdoors.
Jessica Li, Program Coordinator (School Year)
Jessica Li is heading into her third year of law at the University of Victoria. Her interests in access to justice have led her to pursue a career in law and volunteer at a number of organizations that promote those initiatives including Pro Bono Students Canada. When she is not volunteering or hitting the books, she enjoys running, hiking, playing piano, and trying new recipes. She is excited to take on a leadership role at the UVic chapter of Pro Bono Students Canada and looks forward to working with others in the organization and their partners as well.
