Kira Lagadin
(she/her)
Kira is a third-year law student at UVic. She grew up in Calgary, where she earned a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in marketing, from the University of Calgary. Prior to beginning law school, Kira was a project manager at a marketing agency. She took particular interest in her non-profit clients, and first became passionate about access to justice and the impact of intergenerational trauma while working with them.
You can find Kira playing guitar and singing, raving about her latest InstantPot recipe, or biking around town in her spare time. She is excited to spend her last year of law school doing meaningful work managing UVic’s PBSC Chapter.

Brooklynn Malec
(she/her)
Brooklynn was born and raised in Prince Albert, SK (Treaty 6 Territory). She earned a BHSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Calgary and spent time during her undergraduate studies providing peer support at the UCalgary Q Centre, a safe space for LGBTQIA2S+ students.
Brooklynn is looking forward to continuing her involvement in PBSC as the 2022-2023 PBSC School Year Program Coordinator. PBSC was the highlight of Brooklynn’s first year of law school, and she is excited about the opportunity to facilitate that experience for other students. In her spare time, Brooklynn enjoys hiking, knitting, foraging, and learning French.

Knowren Ansari
(she/her)
Knowren (pronounced “Noreen”) was born in Toronto, Ontario and has lived in Ajax, just outside of Toronto, her whole life. She earned a BA in Sociology from Queen’s University where she was heavily involved with community outreach initiatives and volunteered with various vulnerable populations.
After working with these groups, she is all the more interested in increasing access to justice and is excited to recruit her fellow 1L classmates who share a similar passion to get involved with PBSC. In the summers, Knowren usually works at a law firm in Toronto but took this summer off to spend time with her two huskies before she moves for 1L. She has never been to BC before and is super excited to move and explore her new home.
